Recently, soft neck disease frequently occurs in the late stage of broiler breeding. How to prevent it?

2022-05-13

Recently, caged broilers (Bai Yu and 817) were paralyzed in the late stage of breeding, especially after 35 days, their necks became weak, they pulled yellow-green loose feces, and they were finally trampled to death in the cage. Many friends don't know much about this, and they haven't found a suitable method for treatment. They can only wait until they are released. Time

In fact, the main reason for this kind of soft neck problem in the later stage of breeding is that the muscles and nerves are damaged, resulting in muscle weakness. The comprehensive analysis of the reasons and solutions are as follows:

01

Mycotoxins

At present, the price of feed raw materials continues to rise, and many unconventional feed raw materials, aged grains and unqualified conventional raw materials are used in large quantities. In addition to containing anti-nutritional factors, the biggest problem of these raw materials is that mycotoxins, especially other toxins other than aflatoxins, are difficult to handle. From the test report of this year's finished feed by Longchang Animal Protection Research Center, we can see the contamination of mycotoxins, and there are multiple toxins existing at the same time. In addition to causing liver and kidney damage, mycotoxins can also cause various intestinal problems, cause various secondary infections, and appear poisoning. Clinically, mycotoxins are mostly accumulated poisoning, so the more obvious the symptoms are in the later stage of breeding.

02

Clostridium botulinum poisoning

In the process of large-scale breeding, the main way for broilers to come into contact with Clostridium botulinum is through feed. There are problems with animal protein raw materials in the feed, such as the use of inferior fish meal and meat and bone meal, which are prone to Clostridium botulinum poisoning. In particular, the current sharp rise in feed raw materials, contamination of animal protein raw materials and their substitutes, or undetected batches of raw materials will lead to Clostridium botulinum poisoning, resulting in motor nerve paralysis, floppy head and neck, drooping wings and other symptoms.

03

Clostridium welchii infection

Clostridium perfringens, also known as Clostridium perfringens, is a gram-positive bacterium. It is more common in the middle and late stages of caged broilers. It needs to be distinguished from coccidia. Enterotoxic syndrome and neurological symptoms. The reason for the frequent occurrence of caged broilers has a lot to do with muscular gastritis. When the gizzard is damaged, the pellets in the feed cannot be effectively ground, causing the pellets to descend into the intestines. The digestive enzymes in the intestines are extremely difficult to digest these pellets. It is so bad that it is directly excluded from the body, and there is a situation of over-feeding. These indigestible particles will lead to intestinal flora imbalance, Clostridium welchii will multiply, produce a large amount of exotoxins, cause toxin poisoning, cause neuromuscular damage, muscle weakness, soft neck, and paralysis.

atypical Newcastle disease

Due to the current intensive and large-scale farming, the epidemic prevention procedures are significantly different from the previous comparison. Most of them are immunized with 1-day-old spray and 7-day-old drinking water. The chicks are affected by various immunosuppressive diseases and cannot produce effective antibodies or antibody production at all. Slow. The entire breeding environment has been greatly affected by the epidemic, and the secondary immunity of Newcastle disease cannot be done at all, and can only be maintained by drinking water with antibodies. Broiler chickens with atypical Newcastle disease are often found in the late breeding period, which manifests as sporadic death of the flock, poor feed intake, spit water and salivation, neurological symptoms, paralysis and soft neck.

Deficiency of vitamin B11

Although broilers are fed complete feed, there is still the potential for folic acid deficiency. Chickens in a normal natural environment are obtained by eating the leaves of green plants. The vitamins in the feed are relatively comprehensive, but some vitamins will be destroyed during the heating and pelleting process, which may cause B11 deficiency.

The above are the main reasons for the occurrence of soft neck disease in broilers. The following solutions can be taken for the prevention and treatment of the cause:

1. Feed monosodium glutamate to supplement glutamic acid, so that the body can synthesize B11 by itself. Usage and dosage: The amount of drinking water for 4-5 hours a day is calculated according to 1 gram of water and 4 catties of water, and it is enough to drink once in a row.

2. Pay attention to necrotizing enteritis (enterotoxic syndrome), and the choice of enteritis drugs should consider drugs for Gram-positive bacteria and anaerobic bacteria, and drugs for solving exotoxins. Such as: bile acid + amoxicillin + lincomycin.

3. Atypical Newcastle Disease: Do a good job of feeding ventilation management to ensure the health of the chickens, do the second immunity of Newcastle disease, and postpone the 21-day to 25-28 days, and the dose of the vaccine should be sufficient. In the later stage of atypical Newcastle disease, it is still recommended to use antibodies for rapid treatment.

4. The solution of various toxins (mycotoxins, bacterial toxins): the solution of toxins is very difficult, and most of them rely on the detoxification and detoxification function of the liver. Bile acids can protect the liver and gallbladder, and remove various toxins in the body. Use bile acid with 5,000 catties of water per bag for 3-4 days.
